As noted elsewhere in this thread, Gmail (Gimap) is not IMAP. It's a bit like 
an unintentional (I assume) variant of the old "embrace, extend, and 
exterminate" policy of Microsoft except that the last step never happened (and 
hopefully never will).

The main problem is that it's impossible for an email client to just gracefully 
handle everything like the user would expect, because the email client doesn't 
know which mailboxes are really intended to be mailboxes and which are intended 
to be labels (tags in MailMate). Only the user knows.

In general, I often see suggestions about re-adding accounts to MailMate. I do 
not recommend that. Most often it won't make a difference and it will 
definitely result in MailMate taking up more space for database index files.
