It sounds like a local Mailbox Junk got assigned the type of Junk (or Spam got renamed locally) and it is mapped onto the standard (for that server) mailbox Spam on the server. In other words, it is the same mailbox (folder as you call them), just named differently locally and on the server.

OK - so my assessment is pretty much in agreement with what Bill said earlier… The server side is moving the message to Spam. Then, on the MlMt side, you see this move occur in the Spam folder and because you also have a local Junk folder - also mapped as Junk - it will mirror whatever is

An IMAP server normally should have a junk mailbox. Whether it is called junk, spam, or else depends on the server. Have you checked in the sources the mailbox types for the source mailboxes? It is an item in the popup menu when you right-click on one of the folders in a source. You should

Well, with SpamSieve enabled, you can always re-eval the spam score on any message. I’m not sure if this menu option still exists after disabling SpamSieve but I believe it does. That aside, you can always check for rules on the Inbox - are there any there? I did a quick mailer archive
