if this is a one-time browsing need, get the demo of Mail Archiver X and
import your MBOX files into a single archive or each into its own
archive. Then you can browse them basically like in a mail program.

When I ask for a reply, I get the quote of the original mail with 2
empty lines above it and the insertion point at the very beginning. My
wife started using MM and she get no empty lines above the quote - the
insertion point is in front of the line “On 20 Feb 2019, at 9:22,
wrote” which
