I accidentally have an update on this. Firstly, OMM switching off 'Recipient headers' in 'Auto-completion Sources' did seem to speed Mailmate up, but it didn't speed *me* up because I discovered how much I rely on it;) Switching in back on left me with some delays (but as I said, I think,

It's pure speculation on my part. All I can really affirm is that the delay happens sporadically, lasts several seconds, doesn't seem to be associated with attachments in replies, and is isolated to MailMate. I'm running the latest OS X with buckets of RAM and all solid state disks, and this
