MapGuide Studio uses the Mentor library, regardless of the server.
So, the short version is that you cannot make Studio accept your valid
coordinate system,
unless you can represent it with a WKT that is accepted by both Mentor
and Proj4.

Yes, you need Studio installed. Otherwise you wouldn't have the DLLS that the
API uses to upload the resources.

This coordinate system works well.I have a vector layer and there's no
problem.
But it's supported only by Proj4.In the autodesk mapguide studio i can't
open a map definition, only in WebStudio.
The problem is only to validate right this configuration file.

I think that saying loadManual works without Studio may be a bit
misleading... You don't have to use it to create the load proce

There are two methods that you can use to automate a load procedure to upload
resources to the MapGuide repository:
- Create a load procedure in Studio and then execute the load procedure from
an external program
- Create an external program that uploads resources directly to the MapGuide

Scott,
I was looking at creating PDF's a couple of months back and I used a couple
of methods - both the rendering service and the direct call to mapagent via
http - i ended up using the direct call to mapagent as my preferred method -
here is some sample code that i used (c#)
Method 1 - render
You can also edit the local ProviderEditorMap.xml file to comment out
the custom data provider screen. With Studio 2007, I think you also
have to make it not hide the SDF provider from the data connection list.
Make a backup first, and be aware that this is not a "supported"
solution :)

Is it really not possible to set the DPI the Rendering Service API uses? So
only FCGI calls can do this? This seems almost ludacris.can anyone explain
why an FCGI call would have more options in it than the actual systems API?

what about to use function GetScale() instead of Refresh() in setInterval?
Refresh can cancel user's navigation over the map.
Better than that would be to do a refresh (or a GetScale() ) only if the map
was inactive at more than 5minutes.

Kenneth, you're 100% right about this - I tried to give it a run with a

Could you be more specific?
What operating system do you use?
Are there any steps in the guide that does not output what you expected?
How do you detect that it does not work?
Please note that it does not share any functionality, and not much
similarity with Mapguide 6.5, despite the name.

I don't think that it is the MG libraries that lack the "push", it is
the HTTP protocol/Web browser that is not well suited for this.
There are ways to perform a server push, but it is uncommon, so examples
can be hard to find.
The problem would be getting the viewer to respond to such pushes.

Yes, configPath points to my webconfig.ini.
(C:\inetpub\wwwroot\MainWeb\webconfig.ini)
And I've also tested Page.ResolveUrl(). That's OK.
By the way, can I have that UNC-Path or must it be the default path (local
path) as seen from WebExtension on the server? Does my application need to
reference
Does configPath actually point to your webconfig.ini?
It could be that it's looking for webconfig.ini in the "temporary asp.net
files" folder.
Have you tried Page.ResolveUrl() for the webconfig.ini path?

Just one more thing to add... :-) I don't understand why MG libraries lack
that "push" functionality. If there's a session established, then there's a
way to influence the representation of a map as user sees it - refreshing,
panning, zooming, all sorts of pre and post-processing... using existing
Hi,
I wonder how to set up my develop environment. I'd like to have my
webapplication on a different computer (on my client machine) than the
MapGuide OpenSource Software (on the server).
Currently I'm developing with Visual Studio and the .NET Framework. I copied
the required dll's into the bin
Seems that turning to JavaScript is unavoidable at the moment :-) But it
would be nice to have this possibility of map/layer refreshing from the
server side, too. Here's why...
I created couple of web services (currently on SOAP) talking through my dll
on server side with MG libraries. Depending
thanks,it works fine
