Hi all,
What I want to do is pretty simple. I created a table
of points (well locations for measuring groundwater depth).

Hello, greetings from the Solomons,
I have been writing a few MapBasic programs for
village searches and data checking/updating for the village tables we have
here. One, which works fine, creates a menu, depending on the item selected from
the menu another .mbx is run to find the input
Dear all
Just a quick note to say thanks to those who offered me their explanations
and thoughts on the above, I found them all useful and interesting. I lack
any MapBasic manuals out here so the list continues to be very useful in

Thanks again

Dear list,
My colleague is currently doing a lot of work in ACCESS, she is the data
processing oficer here and has a distinct lack of technical support, any
reccomendations of an ACCESS user group accessible by email only?
Many thanks

Dear list
The info tool seems to get tired sometimes, it
works as expected, then for no good reason it stops working, layers still
selectable etc any ideas we are running 4.5 Windows 95. The workaround
is select, then new Browser window - selection, it's not as convenient
though

Jacqueline,
Thanks for the info, it has already been of use and comes highly
recommended

Dear all
I was happily using the syntax below to work out
some areas, it works fine in most cases.
Select Sum(AreaOverLap(Health.Obj,Buffer.Obj)) From Health, Buffer Where
Health.ObjIntersects Buffer.Obj
.but I get an error message sometimes
an error occurred overlaying the objects

(in Pijin of course, though I doubt there is a suitable translator
available - now there is a challenge)
I set up a simple map window with a few layers, then go to create a new
layout window, to be met with a
