Most likely the absolute path to example1-1.map is not correct and thus cannot be found by mapserv. If you do ls -alh /ms4w/apps/tutorial/htdocs/example1-1.map in a terminal window is it being listed? I am assuming that this can be done on a Mac, of course... Alex On Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 5:52

All, The only way that might be possible, would be if the colosed polygons were always drawn in the same direction, clockwise, or counterclockwise. Otherwise, there is no method for defining right or left. If the direction of the polygon can be garenteed, then it's a pretty simple matter

All, I would approach this with a symbol, you can use the font characters inside of a symbol too. The offsetting is easier in the symbol definition, but you will still need to be reliant on the direction that the line was drawn int for the right-left justification aspects. bobb On

Thank you for your help Alex and Bob. I realized that the ms4w folder was not in the root directory. Once I moved it, I was able to view the example. Best Regards, Andrew Andrew Lewin, M.Sc., Adv. Dipl. GIS President Spatial-Conserve Inc. www.spatialconserve.com Email:
