Hi
We have bunch of data for different times loaded into a PostGIS-database.
This data has an id that we match to a another table containing the
geometries with a join. To get the correct data for given timestep a %TIME%
parameter from the WMS-query is used in the where clause.

Hi,
I'm trying to generate 4 specific output formats from mapserver.
Shape- and tab files are working great - no problems.
Dgn (microstation) and dxf (aotocad) attempts, however, generate an error I
have not been able to convert into corrective actions.
I believe to have followed the guidance on
Jesper,
I don't think there would be a reason for two layers group'd together
to not receive the TIME substitution. If that is the case it is a bug
that should be reported. As for your question, the 6.4 release got a
SCALETOKEN enhancement that should do jus what you need:
Hi users,
I compiled and installed MapServer 6.4 and MapCache 1.2 as fastcgi in a Linux
Red Hat 6 (64 bits)
I compiled NGNIX 1.5 (adding MapCache as a module) and installed fcgiwarp and
spanw-fcgi in order to run fastcgi in NGNIX.
MapServer works very well and fast but I have a problem
You might want to check the spawn-fcgi logs. Note that there is no
place in the mapcache code that emits a 403 error, i.e. that 403 is
coming from something else than mapcache.

Hi MapServer Users and Power-Users,
As FrankW pointed out during our FOSS4G presentation, I would like to
propose that we add stackexchange as an official support channel for
MapServer. You can check and subscribe to mapserver related questions
here:
+1, gives me a new chance to boost my stackexchange score ;-)

Dear list,
according to http://mapserver.org/ogc/sld.html, the last update of this
documentation/checklist is 2011-01-14, which seems to correspond to
release 5.6.6 of MapServer.
Is it still up-to-date? They are may be some new styling elements
supported in the latest 6.4.0 release? Or not
Olivier,
The commit log for SLD support might give you more insight:
https://github.com/mapserver/mapserver/commits/master/mapogcsld.c . To
be honest, SLD support in mapserver is more or less in limbo, due to
there being no dedicated maintainer for it. I think there would be no
objection to

I already have a mapserver filter in place on gis.stackexchange.com
So should it be gis or all stackexchange sites?
I am for gis, as it more relevant to the mapserver community and mapserver
is already listed in the ads:

On Fri,
+1 I think that gis.se makes sense. It will also boost visibility to the gis
crowd.

I would start with the documentation on this page:
http://mapserver.org/ogc/wms_server.html The documentation is pretty complete.
At the bottom of the page is a sample WMS mapfile.

I think this is an ok idea - I use stackexchange constantly for answers. The
issue I see is adding another support channel to watch and knowing what to
recommend to users. Are the mailing list and stackexchange considered equal?
Would we want to move certain questions from one to the other to
Hi,
Mapserver users list has worked fine for me for several years but I have seen
that it is no more what it used to be. There are less mails on the list and
part of the discussion that would be interesting also for users (at least power
users) has moved into developers list and inside the
Steve,
I'm not proposing we replace mailing lists, as Jukka pointed out a
mailing list has some usages that cannot be replaced by a se.com

Jukka,
I mostly agree with your points, and I'm proposing we add
stackexchange as the mailing list does not seem to fit as well as it
may have used to (or that SE provides tools that are superior to what
we had when we only had mailing lists...).

I have a question on preparing a set of orthophoto tiff files for use with
MapServer.
The orthophotos are 10,000 x 10,000 pixels with 6 in. resolution.
Currently I have a tile index pointing to these files.
I'm wondering about internal tiling and overlays. Should I process these
tiles
