I uninstalled the apache service, rename ms4w to ms4w_old and unzipped an older version of ms4w (2.2.6) Everything is working well now. Unfortunatly I think I'll never know what was the problem. Thank you for your help, it wasn't an easy task to give support on this track. Steve Steve

Sounds like a DNS config problem on your server... can you double-check your network settings? There is no proxy, no firewall the DNS seems ok since I can ping and get to http://atlas.gc.ca Did you try opening the URL using I.E. directly on the server that produces the error? YES and the image

Steve, Perhaps running a http sniffer (such as HTTPLook) would help track down the problem? Or maybe not. The fact that the URL works interactively using shp2img or a browser but not from a service implies that the problem might be related to the permissions of the account

Hello, I replace the old apache and mapserver (the one who work) by the current version of ms4w. Both servers now have apache 2.2.9 and mapserver 5.2.0. And both servers are not behind a proxy. The behavior with a wms is still the same though. I get a blank image on one of the server. I

I agree this connection was not a good example. Before creating the mapfile I used it to get a map on Internet Explorer to verify if I had a network problem. Since it was working I put it in the mapfile I created the following mapFile based on this example

Hello, I have 2 mapServers on different computer (windows). I defined a mapFile containing several layers and one WMS layer. The same copy of this mapFile is used on both server. On one server all layers are shown on the static map. On the other server all layers show up except the WMS layer.
