[MCN-L] Responsive design examples

2013-02-01 Thread Christina DePaolo
Hello MCN community,
I am looking for examples of museum, library or non-profit websites that
are responsive. I know of a few, but I am looking for more. In the last few
days I have been playing a funny game with my laptop, ipad, and iphone
browsers, to find out if sites are truly responsive.

Maybe we can turn it into a drinking game at the upcoming MW2013.

Please help me if you can. Examples of museum, library, cultural or other
non-profit sites wanted. Your favorite responsive site is fine too.

Thank you very much.

Hi Christina,

we did design Museums Sites to be fully responsive from the onset. You can
check http://www.williammorrisgallery.com on your laptop and phone and see how
every template has a mobile correspondent.

Best,
Cristiano

2013-02-01 Thread Josh Goldblum

hey Christina

You might want to check out a project we just launched for a show on Latin
American Modernism at the Reina Sofia, Madrid:

http://lainvencionconcreta.org

The site is fully responsive, and actually collapses down to function as an
audio tour for in-galley use. This is site is still a bit in beta, we are
tweaking some things including the homepage hero area a bit. So check back in a
week or so and it will be a bit improved. We'll actually be talking about this
project (which also includes a native iPad app and some massive wall-graphics)
at Museums and the Web.

Any thoughts and feedback from this list would be much appreciated.

We also have a pretty amazing responsive site in the works for the Tyler School
of Art. Hit me up off list I can share the beta with you. It has some really
interesting features.

All the best

[MCN-L] Responsive design examples

2013-02-01 Thread Douglas Hegley
Our web team has been using responsive designs for recent special
exhibitions features. Examples include:
http://artsmia.org/terracotta-warriors/
http://artsmia.org/rembrandt-america/
http://artsmia.org/sports-show/
We are currently working on a home page and then site-wide redesign,
applying the same principles.
Thx

Thanks - my question actually was asking if there were any apps similar to

We've been doing some work with iForm builder for on the floor surveys.
We're still road-testing it, but our initial impressions are quite good.

We're in the initial planning phase of a visitor survey project, and
are wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a survey system that
would enable us to conduct surveys and collect responses.

At present, we think this will involve a staff member asking visitors
directly and recording responses on a tablet or mobile device. We'd
have different questions at each of our 16 locations.

Some of these sites have no connection to a network, so we would need
to store data on the device and access it later.

Any experiences you're willing to share would be appreciated.
