I seem to recall mine being yellow with green trim. Strange, as over the years

My tractor was made from a wood sewing thread spool, a piece of crayon, a
stick and a rubber band cut from a discarded inner tube or a rarely found
store-bought rubber band. My car or truck was a block of wood, complemented
by perfect vocal sound effects.
I didn't have one, but I played with a friend once who had one - no bathtub,
though. We played with it in a galvanized wash/laundry tub.

It's not that hard to get the console out, or to remove the surround for
the shifter, if you need to fish around a bit.
That said, it has been awhile since I did it, and don't remember exactly
how, but I think there are a coupla screws on either side of the console
sorta low to the front,
