Either - we do both. The sourdought starter is from the yeast occurring in the iar in our house - who knows what it is? My wifw is now on her second 50 lb. bag of yeast in the last 25 years or so - we keep it in the freezer, pull out a pound or so when needed. It's MUCH less expensive this way.

Trader Joe's Ciabatta and Pugliese white bread are insanely delicious with whipped butter. Lock me away from it. Forget about commercial packaged breads although German Rudischlager black (mostly rye - no wheat) breads are pretty decent, if not particularly tasty. Just aggressively wholesome.

It depends on the bread - they are NOT all created equal. No, you can't buy good bread, you have to make it. Load it up with whole grain flours, sproated if you wish, little to no oil, ad oat meat, flax seed meal, etc. and you will have a filling, high fiber bread with fewer and slowly absorbing

Dan, I love sandwiches. Hence too much bread intake. When I lay off the bread (behavior modification), I can loose 5 lbs in a 3-4 days. I think it also helps to add more water and less soda or fruit juice. To me, it's all about cutting out the foods that hang around (on your waist and butt).

HF Tools are weird. I bought one of their $15 4 1/2" angle grinders last week to have at camp. Its first job was to sharpen the blades on the bush hog. Its nearly as good as my Makita, other than the switch is cheezy its a very good grinder.HF sells really good grinding/cutting wheels too,
