I'm not sure, but stuff that's not in stores can be ordered for in-home
delivery at Advance and Autozone. Or you can order them from river of large
women, or whatever Rich

The 722.6 dipstick tool measures the fluid level from the bottom of the pan,
instead of from the top of the tube like a normal dipstick.

My w211 had plastic cap on oil tube. Found a Polish aftermarket dip stick
online. I can send you source if you want to see if they have tranny
dipstick.

I was looking at the hitch this afternoon. It’s a 2” drawtite rated 5000lb has
some various reinforcements so looks pretty stout. I’m guessing it’s basically
a factory analog.
The tranny tube has a plastic plug on top. I need to get one of those dip
things to measure fluid level.

The current 2" Curt offering for W163 bolts to the four hitch mount holes in
the bumper frame and is rated for 3500lb.
The 2" Draw-Tite is similar to the Curt, but

My wife’s 2012 ML did not have the towing option so I put a hitch on it for a
bike rack. If you want lights and to actually tow something the controller and
connecter and light cable all need to be Benz parts to talk to the head nanny
that monitors braking and stability and whatever else so the

OK, so what are these nannies that you supposedly have to pay a fortune to
disable so you can tow a trailer?
I found this that says newer trucks automatically disable the lane keeping
feature when you plug in a trailer:
My 2003 ML350 just has BAS and ESP, and I can turn off the ESP.
AFAIK, the W163 never had any nannies that freaked out when a trailer started
pushing the car around. The W164 (2006-up) might have them.

Yes, I bet it's quite a bit of fun, too. It is, however, much above my

Oooh, I forgot all about the nannies!
It has an aftermarket hitch and a sketchy wire, not sure I’d tow anything
substantial but it might work if this year is pre-nannies that don’t like that
sort of thing.
AC was blowing fairly chill but was making a lot of blower noise for not a lot
of airflow.
I’ll keep your offer in mind...
I'll give you $1500 for it, once you've got this all sorted out, if it has
a trailer hitch and the AC BLOWS ICE COLD.

Should I get a rebuild kit of some sort with various bits or would that

https://www.sonnax.com/parts/2313-regulating-pressure-control-valve-spring
That site has all the components listed, this spring seems to be the one
related to the reported issue
The valve body comes out easily, and is required when replacing the
conductor plate. Don't be afraid of doing this, if it makes things
easier. The springs only need replacing on the older units. There is a
cutoff, after which this should not be generally necessary.

I'd go right ahead and change the fluid and filter no matter what. M1 fluid,

Gerry's got a good point, I think there were two relatively simple / cheap
fixes, the conductor plate and some other connection on the trans where the
o-ring fails and allows ATF to wick up into the wiring bundle and cause
havoc.
It has also been mentioned that a weak battery will cause a low
I seem to remember someone saying that most problems with ?? Mercedes were
the conductor plates, and/or the cable(s) that go to them. Fix/seal the cables
or replace the conductor plates, and the problem is solved.
