IIRC, there's a plastic rotating locking collar and a 7mm hex head screw. One holds the car's harness to the connector and the other holds the connector in the transmission. Take the connector out of the trans and you have a big leak. Mitch. ___

The cams don't suck too much power.  The ones I have use a max 32GB card, which I think is good for about 8hr at 1080P.  Not sure how one could use say a SSD which should be low power draw, would probably need some kind of interface. You can also buy a 360deg camera.

I would like a system that had continuous recording with at least 24 hours of recorded video capacity. No sensors needed, just nice video, so I can review at my leisure and send to authorities as needed. Ideally the video is stored onto a flash memory device, a mini SD card would work well.
