For the scant five days I was in Abu Dhabi I noticed the following:
Etihad Airways has a huge fleet of black e200 wagons. Awesome wagon.
I noticed immediately that each Mercedes had the odd factory badging, “EMC” on
the right. I was unfamiliar with that so I asked and found out that EMC is

Is anyone around Woodstock, Georgia that could look at a 300D for me. The
engine is out and I just want to ensure it is as rust free as the seller
claims. I am thinking of having it shipped to Michigan or driving down and
hauling it back on a tow dolly.
I will get the address if anyone is

Can the side bearings and seals be replaced without a special jig or other
special tools? I will have to check the FSM.
I've got a nice differential that I can swap in, probably less hassle.

If it had been able to sit over the Gulf for another 8-10 hours it would have
been a Cat 5 storm. Gulf waters are very, very warm right now.

City miles, and thinks low miles equals $$$?
Hmm, that's a surprise.
If I look at Autotrader for 2009, under 100k miles, this is the only one that's
cheaper:

Eight hours a day?
You're dreaming.
I've got a client who drives tankers in ND for more money than was mentioned
earlier.
Maybe I'll ask him how many hours he works in a year.
Also have a few guys who drive local for $60-100k per year, sleep in their own
beds every night.

Thanks. Should be in interesting watching how Michael plays out.
Forecasting models are more and more accurate, so I don't expect there will
be any huge surprise. Their biggest difficulty is in predicting how much a
storm will strengthen, or weaken as it passes over tropical waters..

What? Is that *really* a thing? I'd like to see a job notice on that one.
How do they even describe that? "You'll sit in the cab of a truck 8 hours a
day per shift to make sure the pumps have fuel. When the rig runs dry, you
will pull away for another truck to take your place." ??

Just looked at the wind graphics, I think the winds will diminish quite
rapidly over land. Looks like it is also going to be a bit further
inland so the coastal areas won't get much, maybe some where it heads
offshore again up around OBX. I'm sure the vast estate will get some

Yes they are both 2.65.
I will also have an extra 185mm 2.65 diff shortly, as I am swapping to the
210mm stuff with LSD.
Worn clips wont cause the knock.
Changing those bearings and seals is easy. You can also do the pinion seal.

Parts of it. There are some pretty heavily populated parts where it’s moving

We’re getting rain bands from the hurricane, but it’s an otherwise typical day
around here. Just glad this went to the west and left us alone.

It is raining now, I guess some very far outer bands of the storm. We aren’t
going to get that much rain, maybe some wind. New moon 7.1ft Hugh tide tomorrow
