New hood, grille, prep + paint, condensor, new receiver/dryer, recharge, maybe
a bumper and other misc seems like that would cost close to $4,500?

Your problem is assuming there is any privacy in anything you do online,
through a browser or however. If you just accept that undeniable truth,
then you can decide how you want to proceed. Become Amish or just live
with some degree of intrusion according to your preferences.
There is

Brave is built on Chromium (like many others) but with modifications for better
privacy.
Search engine choice is a separate issue. Duck Duck Go and StartPage have good
Thanks Allan. Easy enough to experiment, I'll try disabling the extensions
next time and see if that helps with the websites in question.

Chrome and Edge are now effectively the same. Edge is just a Microsoft veneer
over Chrome internals.
Is your Firefox up to date? It's not any "older" than Chrome, in the sense that
both are actively developed and updated.
I have found that some Google sites such as Docs and gMail do seem
I've got some ad blocker extensions for FF, but that's it.
The issue is that some websites just never load properly. I'm not geek
enough to explain it, but I suspect that newer browsers like Chrome and
Edge can do more tricks and tips, and some websites are written to use
those features, and
We use Startpage - generally good.

We've been using Brave for a couple of years now. There are issues with a
few sites, but not many. Mostly with bank sites that want to "remember" you
- having to answer the security questions over and over again.

Agree on the windows, no switches on the center console. Can't see the climate
controls well in any of the pics but I think that's an AC line crossing in
front of the valve cover under the hood. Looks like it has a schrader valve
with a green cap. Whether it works is another question.

BTW, I just did a clean install of Windows 10 on a laptop for someone, and the
amount of privacy intrusion you have to opt out of is ridiculous. The average

Grey market import, VIN is 123.190, so non-turbo motor. Too bad it is also
an automatic.
Yes, smaller euro-spec bumpers both front and rear.
Crank windows front and back I think? Probably a manual sunroof too.
Looks like no AC compressor under the hood? No AC may be exactly why the

If I can make Edge behave, I think I'll be happier, but worth a look and
some consideration. For years I did the third party browser thing with
Firefox, so maybe I should go to Brave.

Yeah, but asking Google about ways to set up a browser for protecting my
privacy is like asking a crook to help me set up my home security system.

True, if there was an issue with search results, DDG isn’t always the best.
Sometimes I’ll jump over to Chrome to do a search if I want more granular
results.

This may help. I have heard good things about Brave. I have no firsthand
knowledge though.

Can anyone point me to a good "how to" guide for the privacy settings for
Edge? A few years ago, I found an article online that walked through all
the Chrome settings so one can minimize privacy impacts
I haven't seen a post from you in a while.
