My GL shows an intermittent fault on the IC and a scan shows a reservoir issue

These guys make my head hurt. They never clean the thing before they start
messing with it, and just start trying to start the engine without any
lubricants being squirted in the cylinders or heads. Not a good idea with
something that has been sitting for many years.

block. It fails the test for charge valve to central reservoir, and non of the
struts will lift. I think its suddenly developed a big leak to the reservoir,

I paid $6k for a 2003 with 118k, documented one owner, about two years ago.

The problems with the balance shaft and idler gear were solved by 2008. If
you're looking at at 2007 or 2008, check the VIN and engine serial number.
Avoid 2004-2006.
I can't vouch for the M272 otherwise, as I've never owned one.

I would agree. 211s are a step up from the 210 which is a very solid car.
Neither particularly exciting but the 211 E500 can be quite entertaining. I
don’t think they are too temperamental or difficult to work on, the biggest
issue is the 722.9 transmission but a E320 4matic has the 722.6 which
Big red battery warning on the IC. I checked it and it was 9V and the battery
charger did not like it

$400E500 was missing, so I ordered 2 of these cheap batteries for those
cars. They are the right size (or same size as what was in the wagon)

This 73 SL is about ready to go. I got the fuel tank back in this weekend along
with the new fuel pump and it starts and runs. Today I will change all the
fluids and filters. Might pop the plugs out and take a gander at them. This car
has always been stored indoors and has like new tires on it.
