How's the height in the rear? If sagging, you may need springs. On my
'85 300D, new shocks didn't cure the bouncing, though new springs did.

Does anyone know if I can, and what issues would there be, if put an '83

I have access to a deal on a '83 tranny. Currently, I only have 1-2

The '85 CA comes with a different tranny, yet I'm guessing the '83

Regarding bugs in the vent tube.
It wasn't my MB, but my folks RV generator vent that got clogged with
some bug nest, and wouldn't run. Luckily, a gen service guy guessed it
might be that, cleared it, and sent my folks on their way, free of charge.

[MBZ] ACC acting up again ('84 300DT)
I replaced the missing (previously rotted out) foam tube from the dashtop temp
sensor, after I noticed the thumbwheel only worked at MAX. The thumbwheel now
is quite sensitive to movement, and quickly changes the ACC or heat. For the

The Italian tuneup seems to be the best. After a trip I took the
manifolds off with the CAT, and found it completely clean. If just
driven around town, it does start to bog down and run bad. Rev it up, on
a nice hill. The car will be happier. Rob '85 300D CA Costa Mesa, CA ==

Re: [MBZ] Hood Pads
IMHO:
The heat shield is for the higher mounted turbos, like the '85 300D
CA model, as there is nothing between the turbo and the hood. On this
model the air cleaner is mounted in the front passenger side corner.
I have this model, and it needs a heat shield, others shouldn't
Hi all,
I'm new to this group.
I hear a tick tick tick coming from one of the vacuum pods on the
driver's side fender well, right after shutting the car down.
I don't recall what that pod does, yet it doesn't seem like an issue. It
might be a pod that isn't part of the earlier models, as it
