OIL CHANGE INSTRUCTIONS FOR WOMEN:
I have reluctantly decided it is time for my 'ol faithful 82 240D to go to a
new home. If anyone is interested contact me privately on email for details or
to make offer.
If I can't sell it to someone on the list it will go as a trade, and who knows
who will end up trashing it from there!
For you RC fans, a diesel engine for your remote controlled car. (found by
accident while searching for something else) NO affilliation, etc!

Those would be worth some money if the seller would have cleaned her
boyfriends vomit from them before taking the photo.

I would like to upgrade next spring to a newer diesel Benz. Say like an '84
300D or similar. My current 240D may soon be offered for sale, (see the map
for Harrisburg MO. for picture.)
Looking also to upgrade from the w123 body.
Contact me offlist if you want details on the 240D.

Yes there is a chain called Kum-n-Go. I have seen them in some of my
southern travels, oops, I mean down yonder.

Thanks George, I'll give that water hose trick a try first, but I suspect I
may be a bit overcharged anyway, it does seem to short cycle when the high side
pressure creeps up after a few minutes.

How many lbs does your system take and how many did you put in?
takes 2.2lbs r12/installed 28oz of 134
Did you use gauges? highlow side? pressure? ambiant temperature?
Low side after 28oz of 134 = 24psi. high side after running a bit 260+
temp measured in front of the condensor = 104+F
center
everything looks right. Did you pull a vacuum prior to filling? how long? how
many inches?
pulled vac to 26 inches for about an hour.
Do you know if the cycling switch is adjustable? if so you may need to bring it
down a bit and make it cycle longer.
Don't know.

Were you using a venturi pump or piston pump?
Piston pump. The vacuum held with valve closed.

I have been trying without success to diagnose a squeaky sound from somewhere
in my 240D. This seems to happen while just rolling along a country road,
usually after touching the brakes. The sound of a bird or cricket chirping
will occure for 3 or 4 revolutions of the wheels and is quite
