the timing and points gap are on this baby?
Dunno what will be my car, but I was thinking of a Porsche 944 turbo from the
late 80's or a 2005 C230 Kompressor sedan (mit 6-speed).
Comments on my choices? I've got some time to ponder about that choice.

quite acceptable, with many people reporting in the upper-20's on the open road
and mid-20's in town. Spirited driving will reduce these, of
course.

Have you checked the trunk seal itself? The trunk lid could be out of
alignment and allowing water to get in through the gap. BTDT. Taillight
housing seals? BTDT as well.
