yesterday when I was driving back from Clumya there were some massive
backups on I-26, sometimes this is normal. Anyway, at one point there
was a Boxster off in the ditch sideways and astraddle on the right side
of the road, launched fairly far off the road. I was wondering how he
managed to

Sadly, I once re-educated a flock of crows, who seemed to have calibrated a
nice for-70-mph liftoff from something tasty in the middle of the highway.
It didn't
A WEEK?? He couldn't drive it for a week? Wow! That's what we like to
call M-o-r-o-n. Jeez. I will admit I drove too fast during the first
could of months I had owned it but I made sure I was the only one
around. I finally got it out of my system and slowed down. It dawned
on me (duh!)

356s, 912s, and early 911s did have a way of swiftly
Well Larry,
I moved to CA from back east and was now living in the desert of So Cal and the
silver with black interior 911 had no air conditioning. So I sold it to a guy
in LA (adv in the LA Times) and bought my first MBZ (with air). I couldn’t
afford to keep two cars, so…...
Sadly I learned
Addison!!,
What possessed you to let a 68 911S slip through your fingers?
What a great car! That was actually my first up close exposure to a
911 - I was an apprentice mechanic at a VW/Porsche dealer and we had
just taken delivery of a bright yellow (was it called Bahama yellow?)
Larry,
Wouldn’t we all want a ’73 Carrera RS!!! That’s a no-kidding street-legal race
car.
Regards,
Addison Thompson
(former owner ’68 911S)

I would have loved a '73 Carrera RS (lightweight body/glass, HP
engine, Ducktail) that has become the favorite vintage 911 for
collectors with corresponding astronomical prices. Wiki has a excellent
description of these and other 911s. Demand and availability have
combined to push prices
it's a 74 - bought it in '99 after many years of lusting for one. ;-)

Yes. Now we know why June bugs exist. They just seem to be all
around... in large numbers. Lotsa goose fly through here so... now
there is an answer to why June bugs.
tin.man
His signature says 1974, so after big bumpers and before 911SC.
Maybe shoulda bought a 73?
Mitch.

It depends on how well it's been maintained. A cheap Porsche is like a
cheap Mercedes. All Boxsters have gas engines and the early ones are
not especially in demand. This is because for a few more $$s you can
get more HP. Do your homework before you start thinking about flipping
one.
No idea, haven't had the pleasure yet.

Exactly.
They hated the 924 for similar reasons.

I'd love to pick up a Cayman some day, those are truly gorgeous. Years ago
I knew a fellow who picked up an early Boxster very cheap because it had
several nearly invisible paint flaws the drove the perfectionist original
owner nuts. They were only visible in bright sunlight, but totally ruined
OK so add $800 to transport back to the east coast and double your money.

These along with the Caymans in a few more years. The Porch community seems to
revile the Boxsters. Sort of like the C class MBs, maybe?
