I got my car back from MB Exchange Transmissions Monday. The total was just
under $1900. Yes there were broken parts in the transmission. I have a picture
of them though I do not know if it can be uploaded here. Though David did say
that the crossover vacuum valve located on top of the valve

out. Had the same problem on my 77 240D. Snugged up the bolt and it no

Well today I opened the Servo up and though it seemed to work fine using the
driveway mechanic write up. I couldn't get it to park when the servo was moved
to Heat. Looking at the diagram I realized that the connection for the park
circuit makes ground through the Amplifier.

I was able to get the compressor clutch to engage by shorting the switch at the
drier? I think that the A/C Amp is what is the trouble. I
The A/C system hasn't run in 2 years does that presure switch at the
drier cut out on high or low.
Just low pressure cutout at that age. Low and high came later.

As Herr Doktor Booth might say, replace ALL fuses if you're NOT CERTAIN how
OLD they are.
It's a good, inexpensive way to start
I was wondering if anyone has had this problem. Every now and again the fuel
gage, temp gage, turn signals and brake lights won't operate. Everything
else, electrically works fine. The engine starts and runs. These items are
the only things that stop working. Emergency flashers work and the turn

NO - replace any fuse older than 10 years old - if you don't know how
old they are - REPLACE them.

Here is a link to a site with pics for a shifter bushing replacement for a
300SD. Yours should be similar it calls for the same bushing for a 1980 300D

You will need this bushing most likely 2 of them.
Attached is a pdf of the relevant page in the epc. Callouts 11 101
are for the same p/n, 115 992 03 10, and are I believe the more
commonly replaced bushings. Callouts 14 17 are also identical
bushings, 115 267 12 50, are presumably the bushings Dan was
referring to that require partial
