Ok, things are looking good... I took today off to finish the car, working
from 7:30am to 5pm.
Everything went together nicely. I marked all the adjusters before removing
them, so the alignment felt surprisingly good with all the new parts. But I
brought it in for an alignment anyway, I don’t

That would be great. If you look at the map you will see that the park
while technically in Warwick is on the edge of East Greenwich a small
city/village.

Hey max we could drive up together in one of these cars I have. If we work fast
we could get the 78 CD ready to go. I got the brake bits, some new tars and
maybe try to get the AC working... a few spares of things... would be a good
shakedown.
Mama could give you a coupla days for a boys road
Wow Jaime,
what a brute force day on your w116. I hope you do get it ready by
Saturday but if you don't drive what ever you have.
I have ordered 200 clams to steam, ingredients ready for Chowdah &
Coleman Curt in high gear. Weather forecast so far looks good.

Next time, get a MAP/Oxy torch, heat up those arms (around the ball joint)
tell they just glow, and the ball joints pop right out like butter. I used
that procedure on the last set of 124 ball joints, I actually used a big
harbor freight clamp to push them in and out, made the whole job SOOO much
I hit a bit of a setback this week trying to find the time to work, but I
was back at it last night and today. I finished pulling the old bushings
out of the control arms and subframe. I ended up burning the last two out,
worked like a charm. I then sand blasted, primed, and painted the arms.
Strong work! Maybe replace the big hammer and chisel with a torch, melt and
burn them out?

Sawzall made the subframe fall out... I cut right through the bushing and
the bolt. Then I spent about an hour beating the control arms with chisels
and big hammers to get the old bushings out. I'm nearly done... just about
half of one bushing to go, then I have to get the subframe bushings out,
I'm tired just reading that! ;)
Angie and I spent the day stacking a cord of wood and taking a kayak ride...

I made some W116 progress... rear brakes are done (I started easy). Front
brakes, springs, hubs are out. Front adjuster bolts for both lower control
arms are out. The subframe mounts the rear part of the control arm and to
the body, so has to come down. The left side subframe bushing bolt came

Well nuts. I’ll be in St Cloud, MN at a CrossFit competition. Maybe I’ll be in
the states next year and we’ll attend. Or, maybe it will be a top five thing to
do once retired.

I’m working to bring my w116 300sd out off storage (since November). It
desperately needs brakes and tires... I had new tires mounted to some NOS
bundt wheels last week. I have all the brake parts, but I was also
