I was able to get the delivery valve seals and springs on our
'82 240D/3.0 replaced this afternoon. The only problem I had was
noticing after installing the #1 and #2 injection lines that I
had not installed the keepers that keep the delivery valve holders
from turning. Oops. I had to use a small

Transmission mount usually causes vibration under load as that lifts
the output shaft, but it's also possible for the mount to be bad.

Finally have the parts for the DV seals, got everything apart, took out the
first one and came in to check orientation and tension before I put it back
together. So far so good. I did have to run out and buy a T30 torx bit, I was
sure I had one...

Don't use a magnetic screw driver to grab the copper o ring and you will
be fine. If you do the magnet could also grab the barrel and pull it out
as well

The delivery valve holders ( the serrated vertical tube under the
injector line nut at the IP ) are simple to remove with the correct
socket, see Dimitri.
FIRST clean the top of the IP to white glove inspection state, then
remove the injector lines. Remove the locking plates. Clean
Very common delivery valve seal issue. Two or three seals swap out. Fairly
simple job and should not cost that much. seals are all of $1 each DV. It is
pretty touchy on one of the seals to make sure it seats properly and delicate
getting the valve back in right.

I did my DVs last year and for the 1st few hundred miles the engine was
pretty noisey. Now, it's extremelyquiet! I actually got out to see
how loud it was last week! I replaced the springs, washers, etc. because

So he got the barrel out and put it back in wrong. Very simple there are little
pins that stick into the bore to hold them in the correct

I change the DV springs, the copper washers and the orings.
I put the socket, the orings springs, copper washers, and the plastic
clips for the injection lines all in one box, because when I need
one, I need them all.
Kinda like keeping the mityVac, vacuum Ts, plugs, line, etc all
together
