Both my wagons have a third seat, the 1983 300TD with the three point
harness seatbelts and the 1985 with aftermarket 3rd seat with lap
belts. This is slightly ironic since I don't even have a dog to ride
back there.

SRS = Safety Restraint System, airbags could be part of the system but
pre-tensioning seatbelts are the most common one in earlier Mercs.

I've got a 85 Calif Turbo and it now has a catalytic converter. I know
the air cleaners are God awful expensive but I was curious if there were
any other complaints with the Calif version other than we don't salt
our roads so they stay pretty rust free.

latches are either missing or under the seat. At the very
least, the retaining rubber strap is broken allowing the latch to fall u
It was an option, they are no longer available. They were VERY expensive.

Roof strips are glued on - a dealer installed option.
Replacement blue dash was installed years ago before my ownership.

Two things that caught my eye - the "rub strips" on the roof are not factory,
and the dash isn't cracked.
Dash cracking is almost mandatory with these cars, especially the blue ones.
With over 200k on the clock I find it intriguing that it's not cracked. Could
it have been replaced?
