I ran that way for months (maybe in excess of a year) before I fixed it. No
danger other than maybe a small drop in mpg.

If you're talking about the fabric-covered rubber hoses, those are the
return lines. Low pressure, but if they're leaking it's the MB way of
telling you that the hoses have gone brittle and are going to fail.
The leak will become worse and you'll have people sniffing and saying
