email. I got to see the fountain on Jan 3, 1983, and for several more
days. As I recall, HVO said it was over 200' high.

Have not found the exact location on a map, but it is near Pahoa. The
pool at the Puu o'o vent sunk, filling underground tubes, and this
resulted in a breakout in the Leilani Village area. Apparently Madame
Pele is not happy with the pakalolo growers union in the Pahoa area
(Puna district).
The videos taken from a helicopter when it was dark, or at least dusk
are beautiful.

I've been watching the earthquake page at

a LOT of small earthquakes on the southeast side of the Big I
