The ignition switch symptom is a GP light that behaves
just as if you'd restarted the car at that instant.
If it's acting weirder than that, it'd probably have
to be the relay itself.
The ignition switch is, naturally enough, hanging off
the back side of the ignition steering lock. (On the
front

No clue for your application, but I finally figured out what the lamp
out indicator was doing in the E300D. Since there is afterglow
happening and there are no bulbs that have died, there is a short in
the wiring that makes the bulb out indicator light up until the post
glow is done.
