With all the bells and whistles and sophisticated emissions controls on my
2014 GLK 250 I am in no hurry to remove the cover.

I don't think it indicates anything too sloppy. If it were my car, I
likely would have left it off. I probably would have kept it to put
back on if I was to sell it, but I would rather be able to see the
engine than some plastic cover with a company logo on it. My F150

Maybe, but to me it indicates sloppy maintenance in the past. It's a warning
sign, though not necessarily a deal-breaker. I'd want some concession in the

I think he’s just looking for a reason not to buy it. The lack of an engine
cover wouldn’t stop me form buying a car if it was what I wanted and was a good
deal I was comfortable with.
I think Randy nailed it. Several times.

Haha he’s giving you solid advice. If you let some cheap piece of plastic
bugger the deal then you deserve to get fleeced on some other deal. But it’s
your dineros and you’re free to spend it in whatever way makes you happy.

The real question is whether the cover will fit with the K&N air filter

the trigger.
Does it just snap into place or are there fasteners?

Hard to imagine a dealership service tech forgetting to replace it, but I
