I like to keep a burned out coil (1940-1970 style) around. I open the case and take out the coil of copper wire. It is useful for hanging parts to paint, wiring parts together, safety wire etc. Unfortunately, those coils are getting hard to find. It is probably about 20- 30 thousandths dia.
