HA HA HA HA! “Dealer discounts” are often a total screw. They’ll quote you list plus 20% and then give you a 10% “courtesy discount” to make you feel like you’re getting a deal. They all do it, even mine. I caught them doing it to a coworker one time. He bought a neighbor’s SLK230 for one of

Do you ever try to get a discount from the dealer? Mbca membership used to get you I think 10% off on parts and labor. On Thu, Jan 14, 2021, 4:27 PM Dan Penoff via Mercedes wrote: > Another reason why I just buy them for the stealership. Yeah, they’re more > expensive than aftermarket, but

They jack it up and wiggle the tire, that'll tell you it needs a tie rod (or steering rack I suppose) but you'd need to actually look at it to know which one was bad. Same with ball joints. -Curt On Thursday, January 14, 2021, 5:15:48 PM EST, Randy Bennell via Mercedes wrote: On

Another reason why I just buy them for the stealership. Yeah, they’re more expensive than aftermarket, but they’re very high quality and I never have to work about them fitting or having a pile of little plastic adapter things I have to sort through to find the right one. -D > On Jan 14,

I used to do the same and then got a run of truly awful wipers. The mid-range ones seem pretty terrible too, Angie bought some a year or so ago, I can't remember what brand but they were junk right out of the box. Thats when I started buying Bosch, I've never had a bad set of them. One thing I

I bought a set of wipers for the 211 but I could not figure out how to get them to fit.  I get them from Costco and put them on all the other cars that have a hook on the end of the wiper arm, the wiper just slides over it and locks on.  This thing has some weird end, none of the plastic

I never found that the expensive wipers lasted any longer than the cheap ones. So for years I have bought the cheapest I can find, and keep a spare set handy. Maybe the high-end wipers are better now? Good tip on RA closeouts. I will have to remember to check them. Just recently got closeout

Depends. While I would agree with your observations, my cars are garaged when not in use, so the elements tend to not degrade things as much as if they were outside more. I would have to go look at maintenance records, but I would guess they last at least a year if not longer. Probably more

Can you get much more than a year out of your wipers? On the one hand your wipers aren't called upon to move the weight of snow that ours are, on the other hand Florida does get significant rain storms. Plus all the sun you get has to be hard on 'em. -Curt On Thursday, January 14, 2021,

I think I mentioned some time ago that I was consistently getting OE brand wipers from RA as inventory closeouts for pennies on the dollar. There seemed to be a constant flow of the things into their system. Many that I got were branded NAPA wipers but were Bosch or one of the other major
