I wonder what they use in steel mills? (hehe). I don't think the steel melted per say, it really just softened and sagged. The tensile strength of the bolts holding the sections together dropped somewhat, and they failed, dropping the section. Musta been quite a fire! Probably the same

Concrete absorbs water, and water vaporizes with great force and pressure when heated over 212F. Ever have chips of concrete embed themselves in your ankle when welding out of the drive? I suspect that the concrete started crumbling and exploding, exposing the steel, which then was at least
