Both cars had dubious pedigrees, so it is possible that even if he used MB
coolant the damage had already been done. This was 5+ years ago.

I'll bet that both of them had "green stuff" in the cooling system!

I saw a clown today, when I was exiting the gym, who had a really rough
early 107 of some sort (couldn't tell exactly what it was...it was that
rough). Said he just moved here from somewhere by San Diego. The car's been
in his family since new and it has, he said, "like 700 thousand or

Blower replacement is a snap, remove the kick panel on the passenger
footwell (the panel below the glovebox, locate the blower. I'm not sure of
the locking mechanism, however, once it is released, the blower is held inby
a bayonet mount, probably a 15 degree twist and it falls out.
Have fun!

Yea, unlike the biodiesel list whos intent is to not bore everyone on
the regular list; the SL list is so the SL people do not get bored with
the regular list. For some reason they only like to see SL stuff. Not
that that is a bad thing

Something in the green coolant seems to make the original Benz plastic
and aluminum rads brittle. Happens on other brands too -- I lost a rad
on my Volvo TD the same way.
You can get copper and brass rads for W123 chassis cars but not later
ones, I think.

Any plastic tank radiator over 10 years old is on borrowed time. Chances
are it was just its time.
I'm rather fond of Nissens radiators. I've never had a problem with one
( although I've heard of a number of people having problems with them if
they ran Dexcool ) and on most applications they h

I think that many of the 107 owners on the dedicated list are on this
one as well - but there are some who only read the SL list.

I know a properly maintained 617 cooling system can handle a load and the
desert heat with the A/C on. I recently made the trip through Death Valley and
came out of the valley around 1pm in 3rd gear running about 3500-4000 RPM, with
full A/C, and about 600lbs of bowling equipment. The temp nev
Maybe. Besides failing due to erosion of the top
neck, the seams where the top tank is crimped to the
tubes can fail as well, although that's not as common.
I had a Nissan that recently sprung a leak at the
seams, and there's nothing you can do about it short
of replacement.
