I think the 560 was a US spec engine, and they would be called 500 SE elsewhere.

I've heard of a number of 500 SE cars, never heard of a short wheelbase 560
though. I know they were never offered in Canada, not sure about other
countries though?

560SL was only for the US and Australia, but the 126 coupe and LWB sedan
got the 5.6 in Europe and elsewhere from 1985-1991 (SE was 1988-1990).
The 5.0 was also available elsewhere alongside

the grille. The connector on the firewall goes to it. Nothing
there to catch fire except the resistor pack
Overheating will kill any OM603 head. More likely a dead head gasket
