Bummer about the 7mm vs. 8mm. I think I have both, as I’ve got a set of those
things. One of those, “Darn! I wish I had one of those!!” tools, for sure.
Bought them right after I got my first W140/M119.

I think you told me that back when so I bought one of those spring drivers 7mm
but the nuts on the big hose clamps are 8mm. I just used a wobble extension and
a u-joint and oriented the clamp screws so I could put the socket on. That part
was actually fairly easy once I got the whole thing
I just realized - the key to R on the M119 MAF is a new boot and a 1/4” 7mm
socket on a long extension with a wobble. Or, if you want the purpose-built
tool that makes it easy-peasy (to tighten the clamps, that is) get one of the
7mm sockets on a long springy extension that can flex. Those make

If you are not planning to sell the whole car, I would sell those
wheels. I am old and as such not a great fan of a lot of new things
including skinny tires on big wheels.

All I know is that I'm hoping to move away from the 17" wheels on our W210
The difference in tire "thickness" (or height above the wheel) is 127mm
v. 98mm which is a bit over an inch -- ~5" v ~4" so not really rubber
band tires on the monoblocks. The tires don't show up well in the pic

Umm, no? Definitely not to my taste. I hate rubber-band tires.
Ditto stiletto heels and coke-spoon fingernails, for much the same
reasons.

Would a 1/4" flex head hex bit ratchet help?
It's a foot long, so you need a lot of clearance in some direction.
Once you find the right angle, the flex angle locks to hold its shape.

The GL I have with no title most likely needs this; I put it on Fakebook and
some guy can by and bought it yesterday, so I don’t have to screw with it.
Perhaps this job would be slightly easier on a lift; but still appears to be a
pain in the ass.

How do the steering wheel buttons look? Been thinking about replacing mine but
not really wanting to spend the money on a complete new switch assembly from
MB, since the switches work fine it's just the rubber buttons that are worn.

The plastic elbow in the top of the radiator does have an O ring, I believe. I
was always afraid to remove these for fear they would break off or somehow
damage the top tank of the radiator.
