Check out Pilkington classic glass program if you end up needing a
windshield. They sold me a Sigla glass for my w108 at a reasonable price
recently... About $300+shipping.

Is that program special, different from what an aftermarket installer would

damper screw to put in there. It did look like someone had tried
to adjust that because there are no more threads on the screw

going on a while. I may just stick that in

Crack pipe. Rusty, non-SLS non-original engine, SLS has been removed.
May be turbo, I think the wagons had turbo engines one year before the

The 1980 models were non-turbos. I know because I test drove a bunch of
300TDs prior to finding my first 1983 300TD wagon. The first US
model turbos were the 1978 300SD W116 sedans. W123 turbos were first
offered in US version 1981 model 300D sedans, 300CD coupes, and 300TD
wagons.

Well, the old 220D with a fluid coupling was SLOW -- you had to pay
close attention when pulling out onto the highway! The 75 300D was
somewhat peppier, but not a race car either. That fluid coupling
makes for leisurely acceleration until you get up to 15 mph or so.
