Well, South IN, near Louisville, is hillbilly country. N IN, where Rick
is and where you plan to go is midwest normal. Except where you will be
going, you'll have to get used to horses and buggies, and Amish
bakery But that is Midwest normal in many places.

And yes, I learned the term FIB from Dan the cheesehead. It is appropriate.

Craig asks:

So Indiana is a hill billy state?

I think so. Hillbilly as in mostly rural, with
independant, hard working, good natured,
and friendly folks. The people our current
POTUS referred to once as "clinging to guns
and religion." Other elites would probably
call it "fly-over country".

What hill billy ways do I have to learn?

None really. I was being facetious. I live in
Indiana, but work (and pay income taxes)
in Illinois, and I am always up for a good
natured ribbing about being a Hoosier Hillbilly.
Most of the time it is self induced, especially
when one of my co-workers starts complaining
about property taxes. I usually explain to them
about my lower tax bill, but chide my self and state
because I also have no running water, indoor
plumbing, or garbage service (although I really do).

Most native
Illinois-ians from the Chicago-land area, are
very arrogant a-holes. We Hoosiers (and Wisconsin Cheeseheads, and
probably Iowans, and Michiganites) refer to them as
FIB's

2016-08-05 Thread Curley McLain via Mercedes
Things have changed a lot in the last 8 yrs. At the state u, a prof
was fired, tarred and feathered, and rode out of town on a rail. His
crime? On his own time, off campus, having an opinion that Darwinism
may be a flawed theroy. On campus, he toed the party line and did not
dispute darwinism.

Same place that protected a prof for having clinton parties in his hot
tub, same place that protected a prof who made female grad students
sleep with him on trips to yurp. Same place that protected the dept
chair who plagiarized foreign grad students and got him a job as a
deanie weenie, promotion.

Same goobermnt who imprisons a citizen for trying to send a couple of
bennies to the re lig ioon of piece, but whose commander launders money
and then sends 400 million of our bucks to the same re lig ioon. Both

Just to inform this informed group, I am on my second Dark n Stormy (the
ginger brew and Goslings Black Seal rum). It is really good. I opened
another liter bottle of the brew and used that for the first one, it was
a bit puckery so I made some simple syrup and added that to the bevvie,
then some to the bottle to top off what I had used for the bevvie. It
has some nice fizz, not too much, sorta like your average sody pop. The
added sugar syrup will increase the fizz in the bottle by next weekend
when I have another one or two.

vehicular economic inequality? Should we as a worldwide(web) group

Re: [MBZ] Piddler problem

2016-08-05 Thread Curt Raymond via Mercedes
The pump sits in the washer fluid so it can't really lose prime.
I've had to replace these a couple times, in each case they just died suddenly.
Fortunately they're pretty easy to get at. Do you have a trouble light? If not
they're cheap at FLAPS. If the motor isn't running unplug the motor, plug in
the trouble light and be sure the light comes on when you call for the pump. If
it does you've probably got a dead pump.
FLAPS will only have a generic replacement which will require that you cut your
harness to install it. I bought a "real" one from Rusty years ago. I imagine
today you'd want to try Rock Auto.

I would assume the buyer pool for yellow and orange would be rather limited.
Perhaps there are even fewer people willing to buy a new yellow or orange car
than a used one, so they're scarce on the used market, like manual transmissions.

When dad wrecked my mom's car this spring and we were shopping for a
replacement, I asked her about color choices and she said 'anything but yellow'.
I suggested she add black to that list. I'm sure she would have also excluded
orange if she thought it possible to find one.

As for green, you don't see many on the road (I'm not counting the screaming
chartreuse Ford subcompacts I see on a weekly basis), and this list frequently
drools over old green MBZs. Dark green W140s are popular among us, and when I
bought mine last year, one out of 230 W/C140s on autotrader was green.

$4-5k, maybe 6-7k at a franchise dealer, should get you a 2002 W210.

If you must have a small car, $9k for a 2002 should get you an SLK with 50kmi on

Seems like too much money for a 14 year old car. I have seen e320s
for less money.

The stealer in IC is Carousel Motors. I never heard of this one.
Carousel, at least, supported the MBCA section. This starmotors.us is
just a used car stealer. Carousel has an 07 for 12K. That seems like
a better deal, but still high priced. Star is just south of campus, so
that is high rent.

I think she could buy an E320 in the 00 to 07 range for $1500 to $4500,
