Yes. Anyone with a newer model that relies on an assortment of nannies and 
electron manipulators needs to have one of these. 

There are other versions of similar devices, Autel is another, and there is a 
little dongle thingy called Carly that talks to an app on your phone.

The compatibility list doesn't include the W210, only the W211, and
there are several complaints/questions listed that say it does NOT
work on their W210.

I'm still wanting a modestly-priced scanner, but so far EVERY one I've
looked at does not instill confidence in me that it's a tool that will do
the job, and continue doing the job for years.  Y'know, a TOOL like
any other tool in the box.

Yeah I have the V2.0 it works, mostly it seems, with the 99E320, 98E420, 
99E300s, 05ML500, and sorta with the 99ML320 through the OBD port. Works 
on 211s fine too.  I have not tried it on my 95SL600, not sure if will 
talk to it although it has the round connector and the description says 
it will talk to the 129 (and you can buy a cheap adapter off eBay for 
the iCarsoft OBD-->38pin round or the one below).  You can watch the 
nannies in real time too while the car is running/driving. The V3.0 
seems to have some more features like graphing of real-time data and 
maybe a few other additional features for another $40 but otherwise 
seems quite similar to the V2.0 for most functions.  I think for the 
money it is a decent tool, it is pretty straightforward to use but the 
interface is kinda annoying as you have to step through each system to 
see fault codes and clear them.  Once you get used to it is works OK 
though.  I have not tried it yet but you can save data and export to a 
winders machine somehow by connecting through a USB. and an app maybe.

[MBZ] Nanny car adventure

I am returned to GWN.  Adventure over the past weekend was to pick up SWMBA at 
the airport, drop off air freight shipping, then hit the homestead to gather 
last minute goods going to ND for the drive to Billings MT for car swap with #1 
boy.  Heading east was the decade old RAV4.  No nannies in the thing and it had 
just gotten major service with my demand that all fluids and filters be 
changed, I did not care how pretty they were to the technicians eye, make them 
new.

We only made 400 miles the first leg of the trip and overnight in ID. Did 
around 500 through all manner of twist and turns with continental divide the 
next day, meeting #1 boy at Costco and SWMBA getting into her new CRV.  
Overnight in Billings and then hit the road back west.  SWMBA did the initial 
leg with all the bells, whistles, and nannies engaged.  She was remarking every 
time a car passed or some active interference took place by the installed 
overlord.  I got the second leg and turned it all off except for adaptive 
cruise.  Damn thing still got up in my grill and told me I needed to stop for a 
cup of tea because I was obviously not paying attention in the manner it deemed 
I should be.  It also would not comply with my desire to set CC above the 
posted limit by more than three miles.  All manner of flashing on the display 
and warnings when I tried to make it go just a bit fast.  Cruise does not work 
above 90 anyway.

By the time I got back to the house to do the load out on the CRV to ship thing 
to GWN, I had to pull the SL out of the garage and bask in all the analogue 
glory to be able to re-center myself from nanny state overload.

electricity is OK with me. Especially since the Lightning trademark 
might have been aging into "use it or lose it" territory. (like the 
Cobra name when they came out with the Pintostang Cobra II that Jill 
Monroe drove in Charlie's Angels)


Calling an electrified mommywagon "Mustang" is ridiculous.
