Well, I'd be in the market for a nice 1972 220D that hopefully has good
blower motors in it. I would be awfully tempted if there was one in my
area, but haven't come across one yet.

I haven't read any of his books, but have spent many hours online
reading of his 'round the world trip in the GLK. Great articles,
great photos, great insights.
As far as the car, I read the development article and road test in
Automobile Magazine a few years ago.

Yep, diesel shines in a long trip, and hybrid is totally useless on the
freeway unless you are braking on hills or in traffic.
The hybrid's advantage is in stop and go traffic, where braking energy

Well, we've got this concentration camp in Cuba.
I thought about 1963 Caddy and 1963 MBz (four door, four cyl, manny on the
column shift)
project cars in my youth, but I really want a 1963 Apollo 3500GT or 1963
Corvette coupe.

it)
Gotta love that good o'le fecal-oral contamination route. We've got a
town up here that had its water supply contaminated with E. coli and 6
people died as a result. Not to mention the hundreds that got sick.

Oh great. 1974. Wasn't that the year they mandated catalytic
converters? Didn't every car from that year suck?

Not a diesel, they did not use catalytic converters back then.
Also, catalytic converters were not mandated back then. EPA standards drove
most car makers to catalytic converters that year. Datsun (Nissan) met our
EPA standards until 1977 or so without them.

OK
This past weekend, we took a trip to Minnesota running on about 70% vegoil.
70% was a bit much for the 50degree mornings in the Twin Cities, but it made it
fine with extra glow time.
We took about 35 gallons of oil along for the trip. We purchased 32.942
gallons of diesel on the trip and
yea be sure and show me your setup when Im over that way.

Looks like it was washed weekly inside and out, rinsed with brine and
allowed to air-dry! Anyone want to bet if he gets a single bid?
