Thank you for the heads up on the okiebenz.com.
I pulled the motor and cleaned it up and oiled the shaft as best I could and
it seems to be working a little better.
Where is the resister located on this?

I would suspect the normal causes here -- rebuilt to Chevy standards
and NOT MB, with the result that it has blown oil since day one.
Better to have done so at once, but I would pull the head and check on
valve guide clearance and composition and cylinder wall wear. You

Hi Tom,
I fear that just because some one says they rebuilt the engine that phrase
"rebuilt engine" can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. If you get

For the '79 240D (Albatross), it was just a matter of setting the
throttle to maximum and then adjusting the slider on the rod to

Have they come out with a new edition that deals with 134A refrigerant

One pump, IIRC. Most 'other modern cars' _need_ a high-pressure pump
somewhere, and putting it in the tank means the entire fuel system is
highly pressurized, resulting in less vapor lock.
Here is a very basic question about a 124 diesel (606 engine)
How many fuel pumps are there?
There is a "fuel pump" mounted on the side of the injection pump.

IIRC, it's a flat soft crush washer, and you must dump the fluid when

I have that book as well. I'll also put a plug in for the Haynes AC manual
that I purchased from Autozone. It has vehicle specific data on charge
pressures, and refrigerant and oil quantities. The two of them were
extremely helpful when I resurrected the AC systems in all three of my cars

Tom,
With it losing that much oil I'd think it'd either be blowing a tremendous

My '83 240D was losing alot less, like 1qt in 500-600 miles and the underside
of the car was coated in oil...
