1. What's this mobile after your name on this post?
2. Did you get a new exhaust turbo for your sweet new ride?

I think we are spoiled in a way. We believe our cars will last and last and
last by performing the normal routine maintenance. Sometimes it's hard to
think of doing heads, etc., as routine maintenance because these things are so
stinkin bulletproof dependable if even slightly taken care of.
Do
Believe what?
That some of us sometimes forget that big things (like heads, for example)
are part of routine maintenance if you plan on keeping a car?
Or, that our cars are pretty much bullet proof/dependable if cared for?
I really honest-to-God believe both.

Every machine including our beloved Mercedes has a designed in life span.
And the life span is based on Engineering financial limitations.
We replace items that reach their end of life (alternators, starters, water
pumps, etc...) without a second though but we balk at transmissions, heads,
Actually he mentions it in the ad-makes it even stranger_

I like your suggestions. Driving it today, I experienced no slipping, just
slight bumping when it shifts. I think an experienced MB shop is a very good
first step. I live in Evanston, IL, just north of Chicago if anyone has
any recommendations.

Forgive the transgression, but I have a question for those on the list that
may also own a Saab, such as Mitch:
What is a good discussion list to be on, for information/advice on my
classic 900?
I have been signed up for the discussion list at Saabnet, but found traffic
there to be quite slow
I'm not a Saab expert but I know a couple that I could ask if you have
specific questions.

I found a vintage Saab list, but it's mainly V-4s and 2-strokes.
VSAAB.com
I offered a couple of 99 parts cars on that list and got no responses,
one of the 99s is a rare EMS model. If I'd offered up a Sonnett, they
would have been all over it.
I'm sure the Saab Club out of Duluth MN has a

Man, if I was interested in a gasser, I'd be investigating this, albeit with
very strong suspicions. Why the heck would it be going for that price if his
mileage claim is true?

Aside from the new tires and paint and 35k less miles, it sounds
like my '86, for only $5000 more. minor suspension problems
likely means SLS needs some very expensive parts. It uses
