If it has the same pop-on plastic connectors as my 99 E300, there is an o-ring on the fuel connection to the Injector pump that often leaks and needs to be replaced. You have to slide the white plastic clip to the side before you pull up to remove the connector. On the part that came lose there is

Something similar happened to my son's car -- would not accelerate, ran bad -- listers diagnosed it as a clogged hose that runs from the back of the intake manifold to the ALDA. Cleaned that out, it ran much better. That does not really relate to the engine (or is the starter?) turning

the issue is that the standards aren't the same in the US as in EU; standards adopted in the US are basically copied from what the Ntl BioD Board suggested, and since they're in bed with the Soy Farmers, it's biased toward Soy-based BioD. BioD in the EU is typically made from Rapeseed;
