'Seems to be a adjustment screw under the inner triangular plastic panel and
by the adjusting handle/knob; may need to loosen that screw just slightly to
allow the mechanism to move more freely. 'Careful not to leave it too
loose, though, and make floppy mirror.

Just sent 88-900 to you. Outer edge of mirror is supposed to swivel far
enough toward rear to reach in behind it a little way and unclip a spring.
Right mirror on mine snaps into a ball and socket much like a hip joint;
'don't remember details of left one's innards.

Old friend has one in his garage that he says needs work equal to its value.
What goes wrong with this model? Is this the era of bad wiring harness or rusty
spring perches? He is in Ohio so
likely some rust issues on a car that is this old.
