I wouldn't think so. Isn't there a gap where the 2 ends of the seal don't quite meet at the bottom? In any case the 2 drains should provide adequate venting for each other. If it doesn't drain then the drains are likely clogged. I use a bamboo chopstick from below to clear them. Greg -Ori
