Looks like I need to either locate another or have mine rebuilt. The
wiring is completely screwed on my throttle valve. The insulation is
almost completely gone inside the outer covering. Looks like somebody
tried to fix it with electrical tape at some point. No wonder the ASR
light is on.
A friend's 83 300SD has the same problem, virtually no chain stretch, and also
has a non-tensioning tensioner (according to the dealer). He hasn't yet had the
tensioner done... I'll be interested to hear whether the tensioner is the
problem/solution in your case...

So the rear-steer on my '83 240D finally got so bad that I had to do something
and we finally got a non-raining weekend day.
And my wife decides its a good idea to scrape the paint in the bathroom and we
discover the paint is the only thing there, the wood is all rotten...
VENT WHY THE HELL
Curt,
You are not going to want to part with that car.

Started a job Saturday to replace ball joints (upper and lower) lower
control arm bushings shocks and some brake service ...
It was going better than planed at firts, got the upper new control arms
installed, got the old ball joints pounded out of the knuckles, and the
new ones pressed in
Did you soap up (or otherwise lube) the bushings? That helps them go in
easier, maybe straighter?

Hi George,
I did the front end in my uncle's 300TD last year and found that the
lower control arms had corrosion where the bushings fit and was no
longer clean, round, etc. I exchanged the bushings to the dealer for
new control arms since I couldn't see the possibility of installing

All of the om617's do.
It is on the end of the injection pump nearest the oil filter housing,
and it looks like a bolt with a nut that's screwed into the end of the
pump

I used a huge old vise to press the ends on.. I think the important
thing is that the thing can press the ends on parallel to each other.
