If it's been sitting a while, I'd dial up the idle knob in the dash to
compensate,
I'd also want a couple of tanks of FRESH diesel and maybe some purge as Tim
suggested before deciding the idle was low.

More likely than not, once you get the thing cleaned out and some fresh fuel
run through it for a few hundred miles, the idle will probably be OK.

My '78 idles low until its fully warmed up, that could be the case here.
It'd also be worth setting the valves and running a diesel purge to see if that
helps. The bottle of Diesel Kleen I ran the other day seemed to help with a low
idle...

I think the weight is comparable, but the Gladiator is double-wall, so the
gauge may be thinner. If you have a Costco nearby you can check them out in
