connection appears to be at battery.

yeah, let's ignore the mega-bux Fisker that burned itself up in Woodside
recently while the owner was shopping,... this was claimed to be due to
a different cause than the last one that flamed out; ironically, the
cause of this most recent one was determined to be a cooling fan that
overheated,

underneath. (2 screws) just have to be careful to get the brushes
in and compressed without breaking them. One time I made a temp
keeper with a piece of paper and tape. get them

Check the positive cable on the starter -- typically, Benz attaches
the main buss line there, and it can slip up into the cable bundle
while you are wrestling the starter in, with the result that the
alternator is NOT connected to the electrical system. You can get
some contact by the loop
Oh, that's one of the best ever - a real classic. All it needs is a
clutch and BTW a new paint job. Buy it for $1200 invest $1000 and you
have a Mercedes none the less...

I didn't say that Steak 'n Shake's shakes were fake, just that the "base" is
