What Clay said, crack the lines at the injectors and crank crank crank. I just did this on my '87 wagon, when you move the injection lines they bleed out and you have to push a lot of fuel through them to get the air out. In my case I finally had to use jumper cables from my other car, engine run

I think you have to bleed at the injectors as you are doing. Maybe if you crack the line at the pump, there will be indication that fuel is going to the lines. Did you refresh the filters? On the 95 e300d I had to have a very well charged battery and just crank the bejeesus out of the engine
