Spent a few minutes looking at vacuum connectors (as suggested) and found a vac hose disconnected from a small green canister thingy located over the GP Relay - the tubing had been pulled loose at some point and was difficult to find since it is located under some other hoses and wiring.

Dan. My experience with a non-functioning blower in my '85 TD was that the button for the 0 shut down did not quite return to the rest position. Exercising the PB switches seem to have cleaned up whatever was sticking. As ever, YMMV. Otherwise, Jim is the expert. Fred Fred Moir. Lynn MA.

Solder joints inside the PB array, _especially_ the two side boards that run the temperature dial and the blower speed overrides, are prone to cracking and failing. The fix is simple. That system, with the narrow translucent "Auto" speed button, also uses a separate blower speed controller

Actually, the accumulator spring in K1 will fix your 2-3 "stacked" shift, and replacing the accumulator spring in K2 will soften and slightly delay your 3-4 shift. You can do one or both, it's not mandatory to do both. For sure do K1, as it will make a noticeable difference in the 2-3 upshift.
