A distant acquaintance of mine scored one several months ago. He didn't
realise until he saw the car that it was the V12.
In very good condition (Silicon Valley) and well maintained by someone with
a lot of money. Are they really such a nightmare to keep on the road?

I had a couple hours this afternoon and did some knackering on it. Pulled all

I threw it up on fakebook for $1200 just to make a few hundred off it

It’s actually a Jesus station but they host a bunch of other stations on their

I was surprised when we first came out here because I hadn’t seen a Sinclair
gas station since I was a kid. Apparently there are quite a few of them out
here in the west, centered around what appears to be Utah.

I believe the W126 has an electronic speedometer. Likely the issue is in the
speedo head, either the needle motor is dragging or worn.

I bought a bag of 25 Miltons from an eBay seller.
The pic had the word MILTON molded on the bottom of the stems.
The ones I got did not.
One year and counting on the first four I put in use, so issues so far,
but I'm not entirely sure I actually got what I went out of my way to
procure.
My W123 300TD was fitted with 195/70 R14 tires. The ' 85 300CD had 205s.

Are they? I thought there was some discussion about the originals or priors

And yes, there is something amiss as that’s far too big an error to be tires.

Hah! First thing that came to mind when I read this before I absorbed it was
the Sinclair gas stations. I was amazed that they’re still around - there’s one

I believe the tire size reference is that your current tires are not the
original size that was run on the car when it was new.
However, all things being the same except for the width (205 vs. 195) you
should only have an error of about 2%. That means at 60 mph you would really be

Aftermarket carb, radio. Interior looks pretty good except for that weirdly
warped radio speaker grille in the dash. I wonder if the blower motor works?
That is a very good price for the condition and miles based on the ad.

Not shown in pics but according to the VIN it has trailer coupling, and the
improved balance shaft parts according to the engine serial number.
With the miles I'd say that's a pretty optimistic ask.
Low miles and looks nice if monotone.
